More DrawingRoom

These are the last of the DrawingRoom 3 pictures. A few more were planned, but didn't make it because I had a cold, and still needed to frame things before we hang everything today. They're not lost, though - I'll finish them and put them up here next week.

Ding!

How to run with scissors

I'd imagine it's perfectly safe..... Another drawing for DrawingRoom 3.

Spiders

Another drawing for the DR3 show. I might still tweak the highlights on the coat, they seem to be reflecting several different lightsources, and firm up the spinal column a little, but it's basically finished.

Jess Jacket

My version of this pattern - pretty close, I'd say! The collar rolls because it isn't blocked at all - I wasn't going to waste any time before wearing it.

It's the first pattern I've ever bought. It's also the first one I've ever found that uses a South African wool, which meant that there was some likelihood I'd be able to match the tension without having to do any maths. In the end I knitted on needles one size smaller; mounting evidence is starting to suggest that I'm a relaxed knitter.... very surprising.

The sleeves are 9 cm longer than the pattern made them. It's a very fast knit, so I was able to sew it together, see that the sleeves were silly, and take it apart again without throwing the whole thing away in shame.

Something important I learned, though: never knit something you're in a hurry to wear. You will have to knit at least one sleeve twice, and you will have to start the left front 3 times.

Not an object, but a movie

The Kimono Dragon video, with music by blackmilk, is up on youtube.

It was made with shadow puppets and willpower.
