Lunch (5 of 7)

Skoot on over to Heather's blog to see photos of Saturday's market. The weather didn't let me down - it was horribly cold and wet, and I sold all the gloves I'd made!

Lunch (1 of 7)

It's the beginning of a new week! It's the start of a new job! Will it be fun? Will it be challenging, inspiring, and fulfilling?

Judging by the building, gloom awaits....

Recipe

I was hoping to show off some knitting, but I can't get a good photo, and I think it's a job for two people.

So instead, here's a Recipe for a Perfect Cake.

Persephone (1 of 2)

"Pomegranates are the new cult ingredient." That's a direct quote from a magazine. Who makes this stuff up?

Not Quite Cake

Not only do I forget all my friends' birthdays, I forget my blog's birthday too! It was sometime last week, but I only remembered when Heather mentioned hers.

I've been staying up really late, to draw, and trying to sleep late, to compensate, but the world doesn't really let you do that properly. These help with the sleep deprivation. They taste not very much like chocolate, but exactly like milktart, fridgetart, and neapolitan icecream.

Every day feels like Sunday!

If It Doesn't Have Eyes, It's a Vegetable.

Not the snappiest title, I know. I'll think of something else before the print deadline!

Fussy Eaters (1 of 2)

Thanks for all the dressmaking advice! I'm feeling quite ambitious now, thinking of side closures and adjustable waists - I'd have to show you a picture to explain exactly how that would work... but it could work. I think.

But of course everything remains a thought experiment till The Comic is finished.

Crazeee!!!

With the lovely (freakish?) spring-like weather we've been having lately, my mind has turned to - sewing! (And printmaking, but that's a whole 'nother can o' worms.)

I found this lot at a shop I've never been to before, and probably couldn't find again unless I needed a car window replaced and had 45 minutes to wander aimlessly round an industrial area. Must've been the sugar rush caused by the strawberry Fanta*, but I came over all dizzy and bought tons.

Now I know nothing about sewing, but surely it's possible to turn those into something like this?
Without having to (shudder) put zips in? Can I just fold the fabric in half, sew up the sides and cut holes for my head and arms? And then add some darts fairly haphazardly? And then (yes, mom) bind the edges very very neatly?

I used to wear things like this when I was still in Doc Martens, but I didn't have a mirror then and I didn't care. And my hair was pretty distracting.

*Haven't tried it yet? It's the ultimate in Red Juice.
