'Tisn't the season ...
... to be wearing something like this. It's going to be months before it's cold enough here to get any use out of it; but at last The Wool That Will Not Die has become something.
I'm so happy to have finally learned that I need waist shaping and then all will be well.
Pattern: Jodi Green's Gatsby Girl Pullover from Interweave Knits Fall '06.
Mods: left off the button band at the neck, and just sewed it shut. The neck is wide enough without it, and I couldn't get it looking neat (perhaps because I wasn't bothered enough to find the correct size crochet hook).

Gift Vouchers

Our water was off all day today, and none of the urgent printing that needed to be done, got done. I was at a complete loss with all my careful planning wasted.
But luckily this gave me the chance to make gift vouchers for my Etsy shop!
Please forgive the almost unbearable 'fontiness' of the design - clearly I needed to get something out of my system (and should probably look into drawing a comic sometime soon).
Other denominations will be available shortly, perhaps even this evening.
(Edit: $10, $25, and $30 now available too.)

Ooooo!
Look what you can do with a bit of perspex and some foam shapes! Research suggests that I should get my hands on sticky-back foam and tiny scissors, but for now contact adhesive and nailscissors will do. It doesn't look like I'll be able to get the kind of detail I could get with a stencil, but maybe I just need to practice cutting. Even with those limitations, though, it looks like a really good way to add colour to linoprints.

Brown Paper
Playing around with my Yardwork stamps, on thick brown paper that arrived, deliciously crumpled, with an ink order. One person's trash, someone else's treasure.

Lovely fabric
My fabric from Daisy Janie arrived today! This photo doesn't do it justice at all - the colours are more complex and of course you can't tell anything about how it feels, but believe me, it's lovely. I'm looking for patterns now: there's enough to make this dress (without the collar, and with short sleeves), and I need a skirt too. But how on earth to decide which one for the skirt and which one for the dress?

And I've listed yesterday's cross-stitch prints in my shop.

Cross Stitch
The printing block for these tags was about three-quarters done when my knife slipped! I carved it again (very determined to print the tags) but couldn't bear to throw all that work away. So I saved what I could - which turned out to be enough for a smaller heart. The tiny lines print up beautifully on fabric; such a good surprise.
The tags and the bags will be in my shop soon.
