Swap!

The beautiful brooch I received as part of the Flowerpress brooch swap, from Amy of Badskirt (I love that name). She also sent  pieces of fabric from Australian designers; it's such a thrill to see in real life fabric that I've admired online.

(It's a bittersweet thing... I'm reminded of the stacks of handprinted swatches from the swap I organised that are languishing in a drawer, still waiting to be turned into a quilt. I'm not even going to link to a post about it, because I don't want to know how long it's been.)

Hi Cerise

This brooch was made by Amy of Badskirt, but I did some detective work, and found a pic of it in her Flickr, where she's linked to a tutorial: http://www.flickr.com/photos/amygunson/5855690986/in/set-72157618846310606
