Another top from Sarah Dallas' Vintage Knits. I bought the book for this pattern, and I didn't want to change a thing about it. If knitted in the king's ransom of Rowan yarn suggested it would probably have a lovely drape, but knitted up in Mystery Acrylic from the second-hand shop (about R20, I think) it's crisp and light. Not unpleasant at all.
I'm wearing it over a dress I made, another version of this one. The fabric had tiny holes along one of the fold lines, but since I'd only paid R10 for it.... For some reason, the less I pay for something, the harder I'll work to make it work. So the holes are patched with circles and buttonhole stitch.
(The black buttons are in the shop!)
Love the circles, they look great!
ReplyDeleteAnd here I was thinking those circles were deliberate! They look like they're meant to be there. Fab knitting too.
ReplyDeleteLovely sweater! Love the colours and the wave pattern. I have been keeping an eye on this book, but I just ordered two books from Kalahari (to be delivered on Monday, Yeah!) I need to wait a bit. I have been spending a lot on stash lately. Wish we had more thrift stores here...
ReplyDeleteHow clever, the circles !
ReplyDeleteSo pretty- I can only hope I will ever be so accomplished. I shall keep my eyes out for vintage patterns now!
ReplyDeletehey its not fair ... i like your stuff you don't have a male version for me ?! ^^
