My version of this pattern - pretty close, I'd say! The collar rolls because it isn't blocked at all - I wasn't going to waste any time before wearing it.
It's the first pattern I've ever bought. It's also the first one I've ever found that uses a South African wool, which meant that there was some likelihood I'd be able to match the tension without having to do any maths. In the end I knitted on needles one size smaller; mounting evidence is starting to suggest that I'm a relaxed knitter.... very surprising.
The sleeves are 9 cm longer than the pattern made them. It's a very fast knit, so I was able to sew it together, see that the sleeves were silly, and take it apart again without throwing the whole thing away in shame.
Something important I learned, though: never knit something you're in a hurry to wear. You will have to knit at least one sleeve twice, and you will have to start the left front 3 times.

very sweet! but to knit on a deadline... surely that's just asking for it?
I love your jacket, it's lovely.
Your jacket is fantastic! Looking forward to seeing it in real life.
vewwy pwetty! so what was wrong with the sleeves then?
They ended just below my elbows - too short for the width they are.
more archive lurking... I LOVE your jacket! and I totally agree about the consequences of knitting something you are in a hurry to wear.
