Pattern from Stitchcraft, August 1965. The pattern requires Patons Cameo Crepe. I found bucketloads of Patons Bluebell Crepe at a charity shop, and guessed that it was similar. Vintage yarn calls for a vintage pattern.
(But not tiny zips at the back of the neck, so I cast off before the neck shaping.)
Crepe yarn is wonderful to work with, and wears really well - this has been worn a lot, and hasn't pilled at all. It's a complete mystery to me that crepe isn't readily available any more.

fabulous!
The pattern is beautiful and so is the resulting sweater. Love it!
Simple breath taking! Love it!
What a awesome jersey! :) I love the patterns in stitchcraft magazines (I have quite a collection). I still haven't jumped in fully and knitted any though. Looking at how well that jersey turned out I think I should!
That is a nice! jersey!
I know you can see my green glow of envy from where you are! This is a simply gorgeous little knit.
Love that you didn't do a contrast colour for the diagonal stripe and it just becomes an interesting texture.
Your sweaters are so amazing. The fit - amazing! Love the vintage pattern.
