Hi Jezze, I so appreciate you helping people and giving tips. I have been playing with the speedball carving blocks but want to upgrade my lino.Is there a brand that you recommend? I like that your blocks are the actual shape of the design. After you cut the design out, what do you use to cut the block into the shape of the design?I appreciate your help! Thanks for sharing your amazing designs!Lea
Hi LeaThank you!I'm afraid I don't know much about brands of lino, as I just use whatever my local art shop sells. I've used a few kinds, and haven't found them hugely different from each other. I suppose the most important thing is being able to buy big enough pieces! After cutting the design out, I use a U-gouge to shave the surrounding lino down until it's thin enough to cut with scissors. I find that's the neatest way to do it. Good luck!
Thank you so much for your input, I greatly appreciate it!I look forward to to using your tips!
