Transfer brooches

Remember this story? It inspired me to think of using my transfers on a different scale. These were fired over the weekend, and I'll be listing them in my shop tomorrow, once I've managed to edit and order all the photos. (I just couldn't wait to share them, I'm so pleased with them!)

The rectangular ones are mosaic tiles; I cut up tiny pieces of my ceramic transfers to create little landscapes - mostly rainy, it seems! The irregular ones are shards of (already) broken plates; I've added to the patterns on them. This was such fascinating work; each one is unique, and each one felt like a conversation with the original designer.

Sadly, I'm still scouring the city for brooch pins small enough for the plate brooches, but hopefully I'll strike it lucky soon.
