For Keeps

Mothers have a lot to do, but they should never forget one of their most important tasks: Keeping Old Stuff!

Don't throw out your favourite things, however old and broken they are. The chances are very good that your daughters will love them too, and fix them up to use all over again. (Those are probably temporary straps - but then again, probably not.)

Thanks, Mom, for hanging on to this bag until I wanted it.

I want one! It's so cool. I'm such a nerd though, I've always wanted a brown leather attache case like Indiana Jones when he's working as a professor. Yes, yes, I know, sad. ; )

beautiful and what a cool mother! I'll try to convince my husband that I can keep the old stuff for when our girls are grown-up ;-)

What a fabulous bag! My mom has kept a few of her old things, and I love them all. Every time I find something of hers, it makes me think about what things I'll keep!

I had to smile while reading this - my daughter has been raiding my wardrobe and found 'vintage' (vintage!) items and been wearing them and had compliments - it all feels very strange!

I must try to keep these words in mind. By nature, I love to throw things out once they are past their usefulness to me.
