..and with the leftovers...

'Scuse the glum expression; photography is hard!

I bought some hat patterns from Etsy seller McHats a little while ago, and had just enough of the skirt fabric over to make this one. I walk a lot, so with summer coming sunhats will be useful. Because I wear glasses I don't have sunglasses, and hats come to the rescue with that too.

Check out her shop; not only does she have a range of hat patterns for sale, but she'll also make hats up for you. The patterns come with full instructions, and this one was really easy to make.

You are SOO clever! Love the skirt too. Do you ever just chill or are you always making something?
I agree with the glum expression! I so often have a really FRUSTRATED expression when trying to capture the beauty of whatever! The light, the background, etc!

that is one bodacious hat! hey, you should put a couple of your badges on it - i think they'd look cool on the grey. (incidentally, my life has been vastly improved by the purchase of prescription sunglasses. i don't know how i survived without them!)

I like that hat - it has a kind of Jane Austenish vibe! Ideal for CT sun. (But will we ever see it? The sun I mean ...)

All you need now is a ribbon tied around. It is very cute and cool. :)

I once went to a hat making workshop but some New York designer and although I had fun, my hat came out so badly I just laughed and gave it away. Your's looks much better. Well done. :)

So sweet. And so much for you saying you can't sew, eh? Hatmaking must be the very pinnacle of this skill!

I want to see you in a hat, trimmed with your wonderful ribbon.
