Learning: comics and knitting

Not at the same time, though: comics are very hard to read while knitting, there's too much page-turning.

I'll be taking part in a symposium on graphic novels at the end of May! Click on the image above or go here for details. It's sure to be interesting, but I wonder if they'll mind if I knit? Maybe just a sock or two?

Learning about knitting takes place here!* An absolutely brilliant series of tutorials about how to choose and modify knitting patterns. Never again will I spend weeks knitting something, gleefully anticipating wearing it, and then throw it in the back of my cupboard to perhaps fix later or wear when everything else is in the wash. (Ok, I probably will do that, but at least I'll know where I went wrong. And how to fix it eventually.)

Oh wow I hadn't seen that series of tutes, that looks awesome! I have a book that's along a similar vein, but I never have the patience to make my way through knitting a whole garment...can't wait to see how you get on :D

The symposium sounds really quite exciting!
I actually played around in book art, specifically bookbinding. I took a class here in Boston a few months back and it was sooo much of fun! It gave me a thrill to see something of mine that actually got created. In addition to that it had a letterpress component to it, which is quite time consuming, yet interesting.

Thank you so much for this link. I really can't believe that there's finally a book arts center in SA! woopee! :D

Wow, congrats Jessie! It is obvious you are very famous, and respected, in the artistic community. Hope you have a great time at the event.
