Here's what happened to all those
flowers I was making: they're my entry for the
Daddy Bloom flower show. It's called 'Vintage se Oudoos' which is, I'm afraid, pretty untranslatable. Sort of means 'old stuff'.
The show is on from Wednesday to Sunday in the trailer park on the roof of the Grand Daddy Hotel. Do go and have a look if you can; I saw some amazing displays being put together this morning!

I especially like the large, white, twisty one. :)
} jesse hulle is pragtig. well done.
it's beautiful! It sounds to me like the Dutch phrase 'uit de oude doos'.
So pretty! Congratulations!
Looks amazing, the juxtaposition between the flowers and the flies - PERFECTION!
Oh...so beautiful and romantic, reminds me of a wedding day ;-)
Ha, this is such fun; well done!
I love it! Oddly enough this just re-emphasizes my urge to sew some pillows with ruffles, and maybe even flowers too now!
Love all the little flowers amongst the "bugs".
Wonderful stuff Jesse! I'm with Sonya - the juxtaposition of the pretty, delicate flowers and the fat, black flies is great! Makes it slightly 'creepy' and all the more intriguing. What size is the final piece? (It must've taken an age to crochet all those beautifully detailed flowers!)
vintage se oudoos means vintage's old c_nt!
Not true, though that's the joke. 'Oudoos' is a contraction of 'uit die oude doos', which means literally 'out of the old box' and figuratively anything frumpy and old-fashioned. So 'vintage se oudoos' means the frumpy vintage.
} ag, lieflik ek het myself nou morsdood gelag.
Love your translation of the title of the show, "frumpy vintage" haha! Beautiful job, I love them all together on the wall like that.
