Afternoon Tea

It's back, they say. Good. Coffee can taste fine from a paper cup, on the run, but tea needs a good sit-down.

My new tea cup is so thin I can practically see through it! It's exactly the same as the ones my great-aunt used to have when I was little. I can't imagine letting kids drink from something so fragile, which proves that she was a much nicer lady than I am.

(The cushion will be in the shop tomorrow, once I've had time to take some listing-type shots.)

Your teacup is lovely and I am glad that tearooms are making a come back (although some have never gone away!). I also think your cushion is gorgeous - lovely colour - I always like your Protea stamp.

Nice cushion. Got the mugs, they are fantastic. Well packaged, too. Can't wait to buy more soon. Blogged them, too.

Cushions and teacups...match made in heaven. I think they are both gorgeous!

Is that teacup lustre-ware by chance? It's so pretty. My mother-in-law gave me a beautiful tea set of lustre-ware in blue with gold insides. Your cup reminds me of the same finish! Think I'll go make some tea.... :)

Beautiful cushion - is the fabric a pale eggshell blue (you never can tell with computer monitors!)? It works so well with the dusky red of the print. Just beautiful! (And your teacup is lovely too!)

It's true. Tea tastes better in a cup. I have my great grandmother's old set she used daily. It's so thin and light, you can see the tea tilting around in it.
